Adventistische Schriften über: "Conditions for salvation according to the Bible"

Answer

The conditions for salvation include repentance for sins and sincere faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Although good works by themselves cannot save us, they are an inevitable fruit of living faith and evidence of our cooperation with God.

Salvation is a gift of grace, but it requires the sinner to renounce sin and live in obedience to God's commandments. True faith is not passive, but acts through love and purifies the soul, bringing life into alignment with God's will.

Faith and works in the process of overcoming

»The forgiveness of sin is promised to the one who repents and believes; the crown of life will be the reward of the one who remains faithful to the end. ... Faith and works go hand in hand; they act harmoniously in the work of overcoming. Works without faith are dead and faith without works is dead. Works will never save us; the merit of Christ is what will be to our advantage. Through faith in Him, Christ will make all our imperfect efforts acceptable to God.«

Faith as the sole condition for justification

»The sinner can be justified only through faith in the atonement made through God's precious Son, Who became a sacrifice for the sins of the guilty world. No one can be justified by any of their own works. ... Faith is the only condition by which justification can be obtained, and faith includes not only belief but also trust.«

Atonement through repentance and forsaking sin

»The conditions for receiving mercy from God are simple, just, and reasonable. The Lord does not require us to do any heavy things to obtain forgiveness of sin. ... but the one who confesses and forsakes his sin will find mercy. This is a precious promise given to the fallen person to encourage him to trust in God's love.«

Obedience as the fruit of faith

»We do not earn salvation through our obedience; because salvation is a free gift from God, received through faith. But obedience is the fruit of faith. ... Here is the true test. If we abide in Christ, if God's love lives in us, our feelings, our thoughts, our intentions, our actions will be in harmony with God's will, expressed in the precepts of His holy law.«

The necessity of cooperation

»While only Christ is the One who can redeem us from the penalty of sin, we must turn from sin to obedience. A person must be saved through faith, not through works; but his faith must be demonstrated through his works. ... a person must cooperate with these means of salvation; he must value and use the help that God has provided — to believe and obey all divine requirements.«

Dependence on Christ's blood

»You must repent; you must fall helpless upon the Rock, Christ Jesus. You must feel your need for a healer and for the only remedy for sin — the blood of Christ. This remedy can be secured only through repentance before God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
