Adventistische Schriften über: "Communion prerequisites for children"
Answer
Children should receive religious instruction already at an early age, preparing them to be part of God's family. A essential prerequisite for participating in sacred rites such as baptism (and, by extension, the Lord's Supper) is that they understand the meaning of conversion and submit their will obediently to God. Parents bear the responsibility to lead their children as faithful shepherds and ensure they grasp the seriousness and significance of these services.
Spiritual instruction and understanding
Religious instruction should be given to children from the earliest years... Parents should preserve their children with wise, pleasant instruction. As the best friends of these inexperienced ones, they should help them overcome... They should consider that their own beloved children, who strive to do what is right, are younger members of the Lord's family, and they should have a keen interest in helping them walk the straight paths on the royal road of obedience.
Requirement of conversion
If, after faithful work, you are convinced that your children understand the meaning of conversion and baptism and are truly converted, have them baptized. But I repeat: First and foremost, prepare yourself to act as faithful shepherds, guiding their inexperienced feet on the narrow path of obedience.
Utilize children's curiosity and questions
Much in the typical service was arranged by the Lord so that a spirit of inquisitiveness was awakened in the minds of the young, prompting them to ask for information themselves. The Passover was planned so that the children would say, “What does this service mean to you?” ... When a child's curiosity is sparked and they ask the question themselves, the lesson is impressed more deeply upon their spirit.
Openness of the sacred rites
There may be individuals who come into the community who are not in their hearts servants of truth and holiness, yet wish to participate in worship. They should not be prohibited. There are witnesses present who were there when Jesus washed the feet of the disciples and Judas.
