Adventistische Schriften über: "Church Conflict: Sabbath Members Leave Council Unity"
Answer
Unity and brotherly love are the essential prerequisites for the work of the Holy Spirit in the church. Conflicts, distrust, and the desire for independence weaken the fellowship and prevent God from pouring out blessings, because a divided church cannot reflect Christ's character.
Especially in times of crisis, joint action and mutual trust are vital for survival, as unilateral paths can endanger the entire congregation. If differences are not settled in the spirit of Christ, the powers of darkness gain the upper hand and cause members to withdraw from one another.
Unity as a Prerequisite for the Holy Spirit
»The Spirit can never be poured out as long as discord and bitterness are harbored among the members of the congregation. Envy, jealousy, malicious assumptions, and slander are from Satan, and they effectively block the way for the work of the Holy Spirit. Nothing else in this world is as precious to God as His church. ... The holy, solemn word for this time is to unite the people of God. The pursuit of preeminence must die.«
Danger of Independent Action in Crises
»The welfare and mere existence of a church depend on prompt, united action and the mutual trust of its members. When someone raises an alarm in a critical time, prompt and active work is required without pause, to question and examine the entire issue from beginning to end, whereby the enemy gains every advantage through delay, while united action could save many souls from ruin. ... Jesus wants His followers to be subordinate to one another.«
Causes of Division and Withdrawal
»If we fail to love others as Christ has loved us, Jesus can do little for us; for His words and His Spirit gain no entry into the heart. Many are in darkness and do not know the cause; they have no peace with God, they are not one with Christ and not in unity with their brothers. Through their words and deeds they testify that they do not strive to be one with those who do not exactly share their opinion.«
The Sabbath as a Unifying Test Mark
»God has a test for us, and if we meet the standard, we will be a special people. The Sabbath draws a dividing line between us and the world, not weak, but in clear colors. ... All who profess to keep God's law should stand united in the holy observance of His holy Sabbath.«
Resolution of Conflicts in the Spirit of Christ
»Approach the erring person with a heart full of Christ's love and compassion and try to settle the matter. Speak calmly and quietly with them. Let no angry words pass your lips. ... Do your part to help them. Keep it, for the sake of peace and the unity of the church, as a privilege as well as a duty to do so.«
