Ellen Gould White über: "Christian Sabbath"
Answer
According to these writings, the Christian Sabbath is the seventh-day Sabbath instituted at creation as a sign of loyalty between God and His people. It remains a perpetual, imperishable obligation and calls Christians to bear faithful witness to the true Creator over against false gods. In the last days, observance of the true Sabbath becomes the central issue in the great conflict between God’s commandments and human traditions.
The Sabbath as a Sign of Loyalty for Christians
»By observing the true Sabbath Christians are ever to bear to the world faithful witness of their knowledge of the true and living God as distinguished from all false gods, for the Lord of the Sabbath is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One exalted above all other gods.«
The Sabbath's Universal and Perpetual Obligation
»The Sabbath was not for Israel merely, but for the world. Like the other precepts of the Decalogue, it is of imperishable obligation. Of that law Christ declares, “Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in nowise pass from the law.” So long as the heavens and the earth endure, the Sabbath will continue as a sign of the Creator's power.«
The Sabbath in the Last Days Conflict
»In this warfare the Sabbath of the fourth commandment will be the great point at issue, for in the Sabbath commandment the great Lawgiver identifies Himself as the Creator of the heavens and the earth.— “Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep,” the Lord says, “for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you” ().«
The True Sabbath versus the Counterfeit
»The Sabbath has been torn from its place by the man of sin, and a common working day has been exalted in its stead. A breach has been made in the law, and this breach is to be repaired. The true Sabbath is to be exalted to its rightful position as God's rest day… The Sabbath question is to be the issue in the great final conflict in which all the world will act a part.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
