Adventistische Schriften über: "Christ's Parables and Their Interpretation"

Answer

Jesus used parables from nature and everyday life to make spiritual and eternal truths understandable to His listeners. He linked earthly events with divine principles, so that everyday impressions constantly reminded people of His teachings. The full spiritual meaning and the correct interpretation of these parables were ultimately revealed to the disciples through the illumination of the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Truths Through Nature and Everyday Life

»The great Teacher brought His listeners into contact with nature so that they might hear the voice that speaks in all created things; and when their hearts were softened and their minds receptive, He helped them interpret the spiritual teaching of the scenes on which their eyes rested. The parables through which He gladly gave teachings of truth show how open His spirit was to the influences of nature and how He delighted in drawing spiritual instruction from the surroundings of daily life. The birds of the heavens, the lilies in the field, the sower and the seed, the shepherd and the sheep – with these Christ illustrated eternal truth. He also drew illustrations from life events, factual experiences familiar to the listeners – the leaven, the hidden treasure, the pearl, the fishing net, the lost coin, the prodigal son, the houses on the rock and on the sand.«

Understanding the Parables Through the Holy Spirit

»When the Holy Spirit was poured out over the disciples on Pentecost, they understood the truths that Christ had spoken in parables. The teachings that had been mysteries to them became clear. The understanding that was granted to them with the outpouring of the Spirit made them ashamed of their fanciful theories. Their conjectures and interpretations were folly compared to the knowledge of heavenly things they now received. They were guided by the Spirit, and light shone into their once-darkened understanding.«

Linking the Natural with Spiritual Truths

»Jesus taught through illustrations and parables drawn from nature and the familiar events of daily life.... In this way He linked natural things with spiritual ones and connected the elements of nature as well as the life experiences of His listeners with the lofty truths of the written Word. And whenever thereafter their eyes rested on the objects with which He had associated eternal truth, His teachings were repeated.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
