Adventistische Schriften über: "Christ's dedication to the world and the response of the angelic host"

Answer

Christ's dedication to the salvation of the world aroused deep interest, amazement, and boundless love among the angels. In view of Jesus' self‑sacrifice, who left heaven to suffer for a sinful humanity, the heavenly host responded with unspeakable joy and hymns of praise. Although some angels even offered their own lives as a ransom, they were made clear that only the Son of God's life alone could erase the debt of sin.

The reaction of the heavenly host to Christ's sacrifice

Then joy, unspeakable joy, filled the heavens. And the heavenly host sang a song of praise and worship. They struck their harps and sang a higher note than they had before, because of the great mercy and humility of God, to give his dearly loved one, that he might die for a race of rebels. Praise and worship were offered for the self‑denial and sacrifice of Jesus; that he was willing to leave his Father's bosom, to choose a life of suffering and anguish and to die a disgraceful death, in order to give life to others.
The angels fell down before him. They offered their lives. Jesus told them that through his death he would save many; that an angel's life could not pay the debt. Only his own life could be accepted by his Father as a ransom for humanity.
The angels look with reverence and amazement at Christ's mission in the world. They marvel at the love that moved him to offer himself as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Yet how little the people value the price of his blood!
Excitement prevailed among the angels. They would have rescued him immediately; but their commanding angel held them back.
The angels of heaven became witnesses to every movement undertaken against their beloved commander. They longed to deliver Christ. Under God the angels are almighty. ... How easily the angels, when they saw the disgraceful scene of the trial against Christ, could have manifested their indignation by destroying God's adversaries! But they were not commanded to do so.
With amazement the angels regarded the infinite love of Jesus, who, amid the most painful agonies of spirit and body, thought only of others and encouraged the repentant soul to faith. While he poured out his life in death, he exercised a love for humanity that was stronger than death.
