Adventistische Schriften über: "Camps and their importance, together with giving offerings to enable camps"
Answer
Camp meetings are intended to separate from everyday worries, receive spiritual renewal and instruction in the work of God, and deepen the personal relationship with the Lord. Believers are called to come to these holy gatherings not with empty hands, but to bring voluntary gifts and offerings according to the blessing given to them. To support the work of God permanently, giving should be carried out through systematic charity so that all areas are adequately provided for, without unduly burdening individuals.
The purpose of camp meetings and bringing gifts
»Come to these meetings ready to work. Leave your household concerns behind and come to find Jesus, and He will be found by you. Come with your gifts, as God has blessed you. Show your gratitude to your Creator, the Giver of all your blessings, through a voluntary offering. No one who is able to give should come with empty hands. “Bring all tithes into the storehouse... and test me in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out abundant blessings upon you.” The purpose of a camp meeting is to lead everyone to separate from business worries and burdens and devote several days solely to seeking the Lord. We should spend the time in self‑examination, thorough heart searching, penitential confession of sin, and renewing our vows to the Most High.«
Camp meetings as a training ground for the work of God
»God has entrusted our hands with a most holy work, and we must gather to receive instruction so that we are enabled to carry out this work... Properly conducted, the camp meeting is a school where pastors, elders, and deacons can learn to perform more perfect work for the Master. It should be a school where members of the congregation, old and young, are given the opportunity to know the Lord’s way more fully; a place where believers can receive training that helps them help others.«
Systematic support and offerings for the work of God
»If gifts and offerings were in proportion to the means each person has received from God, there would be no need for urgent donation appeals at our large gatherings... Our God is not a disciplinarian and does not require a poor man to give resources for the work that belong to his family and should be used to keep them in sufficiency and not under pressing lack... When systematic charity is practiced, urgent donation appeals at camp meetings for various enterprises will not be necessary.«
The importance of personal attendance at the meetings
»It is important that the members of our congregations attend our camp meetings. The enemies of truth are many; and because our numbers are few, we should form as closed a front as possible. You personally need the blessings of the meeting, and God calls you to take your place in the ranks of truth. Some will say, “Travel is expensive, and it would be better for us to save the money and give it to support the work where it is most urgently needed.” Do not think that way; God calls you to take your place among His people.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
