Adventistische Schriften über: "Biblical examples of women in evangelism"
Answer
In the Bible there are significant examples of women who actively contributed to the spread of the gospel, such as the Samaritan woman at the well, who led her whole town to Jesus. Lydia of Philippi opened her home to the apostles and thus supported the mission, while Priscilla together with her husband Aquila introduced the evangelist Apollos more deeply into Christian teaching. These women showed through their personal commitment and testimony how effective female missionary work in homes and communities can be.
Effective female missionaries of biblical times
Once she had found the Savior, the Samaritan woman brought others to Him. She proved to be a more effective missionary than His own disciples. ... Through the woman whom they despised, an entire city was brought to hear the Savior. She immediately brought the light to her fellow countrymen.
A certain woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God, listened to us: The Lord opened her heart. Lydia gladly accepted the truth. She and her household were converted and baptized, and she urgently asked the apostles to make her house their home.
Among his listeners were Aquila and Priscilla, who, when they realized that he had not yet received the full light of the gospel, “took him to themselves and explained God’s way to him even more precisely.” Through their instruction he gained a clearer understanding of the Scriptures.
Christ’s message to the Samaritan woman ... bore fruit. After she had listened to His words, the woman went to the men of the city and said: “Come, see a man who has told me everything I have ever done: Is this not the Christ?” ... and many more believed because of His own word.
Women who devote themselves to the Lord ... perform personal evangelistic work. They bring the gospel into people’s homes in the alleys and on the ways. They read and explain the Word to families, pray with them, care for the sick and alleviate their physical distress.
