Adventistische Schriften über: "All quotes related to the conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit"
Answer
The conception of Jesus took place through the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, whereby He came into the world as the Son of God and assumed human nature. While He participated in human substance through Mary, He was called into existence by the immediate power of the Highest, which made Him both the Son of God and the Son of Man. This marvelous incarnation enabled the divine Being to take upon Himself the redemption of human nature in order to save humanity.
The Angel's Announcement to Mary
And the angel answered and said to her: The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore the Holy One who is born of you will be called the Son of God." Luke 1:35.
The Double Nature of Christ
The holy Being or creature that was born of Mary is the Son of God. This can refer only to the humanity of Jesus Christ, not to His uncreated, eternal nature. ... Through Mary, His mother from the lineage of Adam, He partook of Adam's blood or life ... yet without the corruption of Adam's nature, because He was brought into existence by the immediate "power of the Highest." Thus, in His human nature He was both the Son of God and the Son of Man.
The Wonderful Conception
As far as the lofty mystery of incarnation can be reflected in the natural order, the holy virgin, under the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit ... truly and faithfully became His Mother, by sharing with the second Person of the worshipful Trinity a true human nature of the same substance as her own.
God as His Only Father
With deep seriousness the mother of Jesus observed the unfolding of His powers and saw the stamp of perfection on His character. ... Through the Holy Spirit she received wisdom to cooperate with the heavenly powers in the development of this child, who could claim only God as His Father.
The Second Conception in Time
We affirm that the second Person of the Holy Trinity, the Word of God, who in His divine nature has been begotten by the Father from eternity ... was again begotten in the fullness of time, being born of the virgin and thus taking from her maternal womb a human nature of the same substance as hers.
Incarnation as a Divine Plan
Given the condition that a divine Being is to come into this world at the level of humanity by assuming human nature, how should this change be effected? ... Could a divine Being become a man among men without being born into this plane of existence? And for this purpose, what kind of woman would be chosen? Would it be any other than a pure and lovely young virgin, as Scripture assures us that the virgin Mary was the mother of Jesus?
