Keep the devotions short and full of life, adapted to the occasion and varied from time to time ... If the service does not become too long as a result, let the little ones participate in the prayer and have them join in the singing, even if it's only a single stanza.«

»We can go out with them into the fresh air; we can sit with them in the groves and bright sunshine and give nourishment to their restless thoughts by talking with them about God's works, and we can fill them with love and reverence by directing their attention to the beautiful things in nature. The Sabbath should be made so interesting for our families that its weekly return is welcomed with joy.«
