Adventistische Schriften über: "9T 20 Fulfillment – The Meaning of Waiting: Testimonies for the Church, Volume 9, Page 20, waiting until fulfillment"
Answer
The writings warn against waiting to proclaim until the final fulfillment of the prophecies, because words at that point would lose their value for warning the world. Waiting for the fulfillment of divine promises is not a time of inactivity, but a period of heart testing, prayer, and preparation by the Holy Spirit. When God delays the fulfillment of a request, it often occurs for our discipline, so that we may better appreciate the blessing at the right time.
Do not wait until the fulfillment of end‑time prophecies
»Should we wait until the end‑time prophecies are fulfilled before we say anything about them? What value will our words then have? Should we wait until God's judgments fall upon the transgressor before we tell him how to avoid them? Where is our faith in the Word of God? Must we first see the predicted events occur before we believe what He has said?«
Patiently waiting for the fulfillment of promises
»The promise that would harm us if it were fulfilled at the time we desire waits with its fulfillment until we are further disciplined, so that we can appreciate the blessing when God, deeming it best, grants it. ... We must rely on God and not measure time by our own limited concepts. Our impulses must not dominate us; instead, we must rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.«
Active waiting of the disciples for the Holy Spirit
»In obedience to Christ's command, they waited in Jerusalem for the Father's promise—the outpouring of the Spirit. They did not wait in idleness. ... While the disciples waited for the fulfillment of the promise, they humbled their hearts in true repentance and confessed their unbelief. ... They set aside all disagreements and any desire for preeminence and drew close together in Christian fellowship.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
